Dons win Energy Cities Challenge Cup!

Aberdeen Beat Viking Stavanger 2-1 in the Energy Cities Challenge Cup at Pittodre. The Norwegian club scored the first goal against an Aberdeen team who had very little first team regulars playing. The goal was scored by Bytyqi in the 4th minute. 16 minutes later the vikings nearly doubled their addvantage but Scott Brown pulled off a fine save from inbetween the sticks to deny Abdullahi from putting Stavanger 2-0 ahead. The Norwegians dominated the rest of the first half. The second 45 minutes were completely different with the Dons being the dominant team scoring twice to make it 2-1 the Reds. The first of those two goals came from young Dons midfielder Scott Wright in the sixty second minute. The Dons countinued to pile on the pressure and finally manged to score the second goal in the eighty fifth minute. It was scored by Kenny McLean who can't stop scoring at the moment. The final score at Pittodre was 2-1 the Dons after a very enjoyable game. This is the third time Aberdeen have beaten Viking Stavanger to win this trophy since the competion started in 2012.
